In a far corner of Ishgard's old residential district sits Fontaine Manor—a stately & storied estate that is said to predate even the Great War itself. Built by Évariste Fontaine in the 5th century of the Sixth Astral Era, its ancient fixtures have born witness to triumphs & terrors innumerable across the generations.Just before coming into the possession of the BLACK CHORUS through the machinations of its mysterious co-founder, Mephorash Azmat, Fontaine Manor had belonged to an inquisitor notorious for his unsavory proclivities.Whispers around the Forgotten Knight claim that the spirits of his many victims walk those grand halls to this very day...

For 50,000g, a patron may challenge any fighter on our roster!
♕
Bets involve real gil. Menu items do not!
Characters (and players) must be 18 or older to enter the Crown.
Please keep OOC conversation to a minimum in /say chat.
OOC harassment, bigotry, and general rudeness are not tolerated.
Violence is expressly forbidden outside of the ring.
SIGN-UP SHEET — Patron signups are handled via Google form, with our randomly-generated roster posted to our Discord every Wednesday evening. Pending availability, we may or may not accept walk-in fighters throughout the night. Sign-ups are currently being accepted at the desk on open night! Fight sign-ups may switch back to early sign-up via sheet depending on how busy the venue becomes.
HEALING PROTOCOL — Between matches, authority over the ring and its current combatants belongs to the designated healer. No one may enter or leave without their explicit permission. Furthermore, the designated healer holds jurisdiction over all healing that may take place on the premises; while individuals may decline the designated healer's assistance, they may not accept medical aid from another without the designated healer's permission.
LORE-COMPLIANCE — Crown patrons and staff are expected to refrain from lore-breaking subject matter while roleplaying on the premises. If you are uncertain about the permissibility of a particular concept, we urge you to err on the side of caution for the sake of preserving the venue's accessibility to players of all roleplay styles.

☆ If a staff member contacts you regarding a rule violation, please comply. Failure to do so may result in ejection from the venue and/or a permanent blacklist from all future Crown openings and events.

In-character announcements & fight posts will be in /yell chat; please ensure it is visible for the duration of your stay.

COMBAT SYSTEM — All 1v1 fights abide by Grindstone rules: beginning with initiative rolls from both combatants, followed by attack vs. defense rolls until one person has landed 3 blows (see below) or 30 minutes have passed. If a fight reaches the time limit, the combatant who has landed the most blows will be declared the winner. Tie-breaker rolls are employed as necessary.
COMBAT POSTS — Fight posts may not exceed 1 paragraph nor take longer than 6 minutes to submit. Attempts to “run out the clock" will result in immediate disqualification and potential blacklisting from future Crown openings.
3-HIT RULE — The first combatant to win 3 attack rolls is considered the match winner; once the winning attack roll has been submitted, the loser must post their defeat. Because the dice system is an OOC contrivance, this rule is strictly OOC; from an IC perspective, your character must forfeit or become incapacitated, in accordance with this rule.
“GOOD FAITH” RULE — We ask all combatants to fight in good faith. This includes but is not limited to: honoring lost defense rolls by sustaining appropriate levels of damage, posting engaging attacks that allow for flexibility in responses, and respecting your opponent's time. All Crown combatants must provide legitimate “third hits” that either incapacitate their opponent or otherwise render them incapable of fighting on. “Third hits” that consist of non-attacks (actions which do not inflict damage or incapacitate the other character) violate the second tenet of this rule.
MAGIC PROTOCOL — Combatants may not employ any school of magic during regular Crown openings. Aether may only be used to augment physical attacks (both armed and unarmed).
LIABILITY — Attempts to kill and/or permanently maim are not tolerated and will result in prompt staff intervention. The Crown of Dahlias and its affiliates are not responsible for any serious injuries or death sustained within the ring.

The Crown's magic-only fight nights feature a King of the Hill style lineup wherein one competitor fights various opponents until they are defeated, at which point the new winner fights on in their stead.
Each match follows our usual Rules of the Ring. However, during the Orb & Scepter, physical attacks of any kind are not permitted!
Combatants utilizing illegal schools of magic (including White and Black) will be escorted from the premises and banned from participating in all future Crown openings and events. Our regular rule regarding lore-breaking still applies.
The Orb & Scepter prize changes after every competition and goes to the combatant who has won the most consecutive matches by the end of the night. These prizes are IC only, which means that winners will receive a different RP scene hosted by one or more of the Crown staff! Feel free to enjoy them as one-off roleplays or incorporate them into your overall storyline!
Each month's winner may, if they so choose, invite one additional person to accompany them during their prize scene.
